The Generation Homes Lake Taupō Cricket Club has been the heartbeat of cricket in the Great Lake Taupō region since 2016. We're committed to inclusivity, welcoming players of every skill level into our Premier, Reserve, and Academy teams.
Guided by teamwork, commitment, and respect, we aim to develop players capable of representing at Bay of Plenty level and beyond — all while building a supportive club where friendships flourish and cricket thrives.
Our mission is to grow and promote cricket across the Great Lake Taupō region, and to be the leading cricket club in the Bay of Plenty — developing players who go on to represent Bay of Plenty, Northern Districts, and the Black Caps, both male and female.

Our story
Lake Taupō Cricket Club, established in 2016, has quickly become a proud and important part of the local sporting community. Built on a strong passion for cricket in the Taupō region, the club has grown from its early foundations into a well-supported and respected organisation, providing opportunities for players of all ages and abilities. Central to this growth has been a commitment to youth development, highlighted by the introduction of the club’s Academy team in 2019, as well as its ongoing involvement in delivering cricket within Taupō schools for both boys and girls.
Competing within the Rotorua Cricket Association and the Bay of Plenty Premier competition, the club has developed a strong reputation for fostering talent and creating a welcoming, community-focused environment. On the field, Lake Taupō Cricket Club has already celebrated notable success, with the 2nd XI winning the RCA Championship in the 2020/21 season and the T20 Plate in 2024/25. The Premier side has also made two Williams Cup semi-finals and continues its pursuit of a first 1st XI trophy. With strong ties to Taupō Cricket and the wider regional game, and with generations of players, volunteers, and supporters contributing to its journey, the club continues to build on its history while looking confidently to the future.
